Your suspicions are correct. Actually what you show is a copy of a fantasy badge. Concensus is that these badges did not exist. The earlier versions of this badge were a little more convincingwith the standard pin plate. Yours is a fresher version. Moringi manufactures these that you show. I have one of the earlier versions I have to dig out and scan and post. Hope this helps. Robert

Yes it's true,- the one you posted is a crappy 2d-generation fake,- the 1st generation had much better & crispier details & had a round pin plate. The one you posted is the exact badge sold by Reddick Enterprises, w/that tell-tale oddball pinplate,- the color you posted looks like their wine-colored one, item #0107-301-001, retail $35. Reddick offers them in 4 colored borders,- wine, orange, yellow & blue. I recall that the 1st generation version had a red border. There also was one circulating at the same time with a blue border, which had "Startrichter" on it (Starting Judge).

I have always wondered why on Earth would someone shell out hard earned $ for a fantasy piece at a fantasy shop. 500 Pound olympic fantasy re-enactors. That would be fun to watch. I go for the synchronized swimming with the judge wearing all the diferent colored pins all at the same time.
