      Hi James,
i`ve checked my diplomatic reference and did not spot it. I thought that the Dip. corps used a larger more open style of eagle???

        ...

Sure looks like a diplomatic eagle... wing style is similar.

Try your Forest Service "Reichsforstdienst" references. You might get lucky.

Yo may want to investigate that it may be a RMBO eagle.....or check the organisatons that were part of the occupied eastern territories.

          Just a thought.

Ashley, Here's a picture of a Diplomatic Corps Officers Cap with your eagle inserted at the top and a Reich State Service Cap eagle inserted below they were the Diplomatic Corps for the Eastern Territories. You can see that yours closely resembles the embroidered one on the hat.

              Ashley.

The eagle you posted is a peaked cap badge for the Bahnschutz, the railway police.

              Regards,

              Robin.

Robin, Would you by chance have Bahnschutz cap eagle to show us in comparison to Ashley's cap eagle.

                    James.

Yes. I do have one but it's the later zinc type. I can't post it at the moment, but it's pretty much the same as the one shown here, except it's grey.

The Bahnschutz eagle is fairly scarce, and it's not seen in photos too often.

                    Regards,

                    Robin.

The Assmann catalog was the one place I forgot to look.
