    Help with enameled Sports Medal

    Hi All

Could I please have your help with this enamelled Sports Medal, it looks like a shooting award. How rare are these and what value is put on them, it is nicely enamelled.

    Thanks
    Mal

I don't believe that the medal should be there, i.e. its been added, otherewise its OK.
      Try searching the forum.

        Hi Pete,

I made search on D.Sch.V. and nothing came up. I assume it stands for Deutsche Schützenverein in conjunction with DRL and that this set void of the enamelled cross is a legit piece, right?

        cheers

You can find a shooting club with "D.Sch.V." (Deutscher Schützen Verein) but if this medal comes from there ?

            Hi,

we do have here two different pieces, combined privatly.

The above piece (two pieces) is from the "Deutscher Schützenverband" (DSchV).
I think it is the "Große Auszeichnung für Schießleistung" in Bronze.
Instead of the (wrong) cross there could be added "Jahresspangen" for different years, e.g. 1940 or/and 1942.
            Please see Heering/Hüsken from 1997, No. 8728.

The cross is from a shooting competition in a shooting club in Hesedorf, a small village in Lower Saxony, now a part of Bremervörde.

                Thanks All

That's very helpful, I now know the top part is a Deutscher Schützenverband ( DSchV ) in bronze, what would the lower cross be hung from.
