            That's a bad mis-strike where the crossed ribbons at the bottom of the wreath is messed up.

            Also notice the pebbling under the red enamel on the fake is in concentric lines instead of smaller, irregular dots. Here's what a real one looks like:

              I'm sure there are many of these fake Fuess badges in collections by unknowing collectors. The first red flag should have been back in the 80's when so many of these badges were available at shows.

                        But there are exceptions to the party number being stamped at the bottom of the reverse. Here is the badge of Anton Hartmann, SS officer and liason on the staff of RL Schwarz. His GPB features his party number engraved. The lettering of the obverse and reverse pin plate are spot on. His SS officer file is quite long and features a photo of him in business suit with small GPB.
