    Unknown SS pin ?

Every year or so I post this one in hopes to get an answer on this one .
The closest guess was some kind of early post war Haig pin , eventhough this pin is not shown in any refference material . Back silver plated - mostly worn off .

It looks rather sloppy made. IMO it even could be a pré wartime piece made by a beginning student in the art of medal making or so?? Not a graduated guy, that's for sure.

I had never seen one like this before. Looks good, but I don´t dare to say if HIAG or not.

The only one I've seen like it is sold by Rex Reddick... in gold and silver.

I had other pictures I cannot find again . Thought I would have found them by now ... will redo the closeup scan . The picture does not show it but the workmanship is not bad . It is not flawless either ... and the enamel work I would think comparible to the time periode ,.. surface does dip minutly between medal parts ... which as I was told happens during cooling ?? The other interesting thing is the glazyl coating on the front metal pieces .. it seams to have gold particles imbedded in it , which gives it that yellowy color . I had a jewler look at it . He has no idea about the piece as he has never seen one , only finds it interestng the effert that was put into it - he thinks it is not a modern made piece .
I have only seen 2 others in the last 10 years ... one realy nice one still silver plated quit well on the back and one worn one with a broken pin .
