    Hi Fellows-

Somebody just informed me of this thread.

I am the offender who had this piece for sale at my site at www.germanwarbooty.com and I will remove it today...I got taken..the enamel sure does look perfect. I have had a few of the examples with the raised birds and I do have the black version.

    Kindest Regards,

    John

Sorry for coming to the discussion so late, haven't been around much lately.

Firstly let me congratulate John T for being up front & doing the "right thing". He's a top notch dealer who I've bought from many times over the years & he's never let me down yet. If there is ever a problem, I know John will put it right.

Now to the badge. I'm with Stephen here, Cone's book has a number of mistakes & fakes in it which the reader has to be aware of including the coloured DRK badges. But I do feel that he is correct when it comes to these.

Another point to mention is the maker mark "AK". As Robert mentioned, it has always been said that this badge was produce by Alois Klammer of Innsbruck. As many of you know, for a number of years I have been studying the Austrian shooting badges of the Landesschießen & Kreisschießen of which Klammer made a large number. So far I have never seen them use just an "AK" mark on any badges that they are known to have made. They always use their full name or just Klammer Innsbruck etc. So I think we can also safely say that these badges were not produced by them.

      Cheers
      Don

This thread has "educated people" ? What has it taught?
