and these aren't too shabby:
More faves.
Help me out with the triangular one. It says:
"mit Adolf Hitler auf D. Hoherodskopf z. Sonnwendfeier am 18 Juni 1932".
Something about a Summer Solstice celebration?
The Albert Leo Schlageter tinnie is fun. Note the symbolism of the broken bayonet with the hint of the oak tree sprouting from behind it.-Ralph Abercrombie

Sonnenwende and Schlageter Tinnie
SONNENWENDE - SUN TURNING
Ancient ritual of the Germanic and other tribes to appease the gods for a full harvest in the following year. Used as a way on uniting the people and the NSDAP. The date (near March 21 in the northern hemisphere) when night and day are nearly the same length and sun crosses the celestial equator moving northward. In the southern hemisphere, the vernal equinox corresponds to the centre of the sun crossing the celestial equator moving southward and occurs on the date of the northern autumnal equinox. The vernal equinox marks the first day of the season of spring.
SCHLAGETER TAG
Albert Leo Schlageter was born on the 12th of August 1894 in Schoenau in the Black Forest
He volunteered for service in 1914 with the 76 Field Artillery Regiment, served in Flanders, the Somme and Verdun, promoted to Lt, awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class and discharged in December 1918.
In 1919 he joined the Free Corps and fought in the Baltic and continued this course of action until joining the NSDAP in 1922.
During 1923 he fought against the French and Belgian occupation of the Ruhr. He was arrested on April 7th 1923, sentenced to death by a French court on May 7th and executed on the 26th of May 1923.
The 10th of June 1923 was the first celebration for this NSDAP martyr, it was to be held annually.Last edited by Marc Sherriff; 08-26-2002, 06:47 AM.
