    DDAC Enamelled Medal...My New Project?

Hi again Members of the Board!
Kindly take a look at this piece. In your opinion is it fairly scarce or fairly common? This is the only one I have ever run across. I post this primarly to get some expert advice on how to restore this baby. To be more specific to remove the "verdigres." That green ugly stuff that likes to eat away at our badges.
Could anyone advise of a verdigres removal technique? I have read that by soaking in olive oil over time it will remove some of it. I have tried this technique
with old "verdigred" copper coins and it works like a charm. After a few days, the olive oil begins to turn green. Pull the coin out of the olive oil and wipe clean very gently. It might take a few weeks or a few months but it may never take it all off. It does remove most of it and should stop it from spreading.
As you can see in my first pic, the ugly green scum is on the left side. It actually is a much brighter green than my camera is able to show. I'm thinking of trying the technique I mentioned. Does anyone have experience with this
    that they could share?...........
    Thanks.....................John

I know that anything too much acid based can really mess with the enamel finish.
So I know extreme care must be taken when dealing with enamels. I think olive oil and a lot of patience might be the only way to go? ............ John
