    Luftsport, DLV or Other? Tinnie

    Hello All,

I've had this one in my collection for a while and display it with a Glider collection. I haven't seen other examples and now am curious as to what it is and who the maker 'SBM' might be. I understand 'Echt Bernstein' means "Genuine Amber." I've had a suggestion that it may be a Luftsport or DLV Tinnie and that certainly sounds reasonable. Does anyone have a similar example and/or know it's identity?

    Thanks,

    Eric

Interestingly enough the crossed hammers remind me of the symbol for the German miner's association.

            Guy,

Is it possible that you can post a scan or image of that catalog reference?

I do see evidence that there was a 3rd airplane attached to the other horizontal stabilizer.

            Thanks,

            Eric

                Hello Eric,
Here's your Luftsport pin! Couldn't get the whole page on the scanner, but yours is located in the center.

                  Thank you Tony and Guy,

I had looked all over the site Guy had recommended but, just could not find the catalog referenced.

For those interested, Tony's posting is referenced from Uniforms & Traditions of the Luftwaffe, Volume 1, by John R. Angolia & Adolf Schlicht, page 97.
