    Ever Seen This One?

    Hi All,
    Happy New Year!
Does anyone know what this tin badge signifies? I'm scratching
my head over this one. There's a "70" at the top and 1934 at the bottom.
What's at the center? Any opinions would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    John

Just a guess: perhaps something to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the War of 1864 and the battle of Dybbøl Hill. The area had a number of monuments and was a popular pilgrimage site for Germans and Danes. The German monuments were blown up after W.W.II, but would have been a patriotic destination in the 1930s and something worthy of Nazis exploitation.

Check here for more detailed info about the Dybbøl monuments.

      VerKuilen Ager,
Thank you for the link (interesting reading) and your opinion! I think your guess looks to be 100% in the money. I greatly appreciate your input.
      Regards,
      John

        Dybbøl

        Hi

It might be something to relating to 1864, but it is hardly Dybbøl as this hill doesnt look like this at all. Dybbøl is today a city next to Sønderborg. Anyone just a little familar with danish geography knows that this doesnt match with any place in Denmark, or hardly Sleswig for that matter.

        Just my five cents
