    Imperial style. Note the SS type eagle on the neckline!

      POSTING FOR MAX:

      Hello Jerry
      I have attached 4 pictures of sports Eagles.

      The Olympic Eagle was only used doing the 1936 Olympic. There are only two types IMO;
      -the small one used for the white cap for instance at the Olympic opening (10 cm. wide)
      -the big one used on the sports shirt like in the picture no. 16 (15 cm. wide)
      -I have seen a big Eagle in bullion on an armband (for judge?)

      Both types are very rare and I have only seen my own example of the shirt Eagle in 20 years.

      I think that the other Eagle used in that picture no. 16 and the Eagle you have, is there to show which organisation or club the person belonged to. Your Eagle is from Deutsche Reichsbund für Leibesübungen also called NS Reichsbund für Leibesübungen. NSRL used many variations of Eagles as shown in the 3 other pictures with Eagles from my collection;

      -breast badges
      -badges made by local clubs
      -armbands (my armband has a stamp with “Deutsche Reichsbund für Leibesübungen Reichsführung”)
      -Ausland Organization
      -winner patches, some marked 1944 or other years
      -cap badges – like mine from the yacht club
      -on tinnies

      As stated before I am sure, that your Eagle are not an Olympic eagle, but was used at the Olympic to show that the sports man was a member of NSRL.

      Regards
      Max

                    Fred, it's good to get positive feedback from a hardcore military bevo man as you
                    Strange that these rare patches have not produced more comments
