    2nd Pattern SA Cap Eagle-original?

picked this up last February at a gun show. Is the head even facing the correct way? No markings on it, and it is magnetic. LMK what you think, thanks

      Eagle

The 2nd style SA eagles' heads faced the opposite way. In addition, I've never seen an original eagle with prongs/tabs like this.
I don't know what exactly it is, but I don't think it's an SA eagle. Some other organizations used an eagle with the head facing this way (postal service, etc.) but all of the originals I've seen had the prongs mounted on the reverse in some way.

        If it's anything it's a postal eagle...

But I've never seen that sort of prong.

          Hi All,
this looks as posted one of the civil types (poastal) these type of prongs are very similar to those found on collar type death heads and late war eagles (army) as well as some cap insignias. (jager oak leaves).

But if it is a party type eagle it should have a rzm and maker mark on the reverse (not seen in the picture)

we've established it isn't SA, but probably postal. so do you guys think it's a good piece? Probably not worth much, but I don't really care, I only paid 5 bucks
