      It might......
Great piece! Okay, we know that Hoffstätter was a maker of the hollow (and possibly solid) version. And the use of a paper label would explain why nearly all are unmarked--the sticker would be easily removed or lost to time.

Don't know if anybody noticed, but the badge that started this thread has a plain background to the swastika.
The solid type comes with both plain and pebbled backgrounds, I have both but neither are maker marked.

            Ron,

Thanks for the photo showing the Hoffstatter label. From my perspective, all three hollow backs shown in this thread are from the same manufacturer. I had this manufacturer on my short list of possible suspects!!!

Here's my hollow backed badge to add to the discussion.

it would be nice to see a close up pic off the first badge,as the buildings seem to lack detail (eg windows)

Many thanks for posting that pic of Nuremberg Castle and its round tower -- great memories! I climbed that tower back in 1999...from the inside, of course! What a fantastic view of the old city from the top.

Here is close up detail toward the pin retaining clasp on a solid back example. Unfortunately the badge is not in my collection and it would be unfair to show full obverse and reverse images. By the way, superb obverse details to include a slightly pebbled inner to the wreath.

                      Regards,

                      David

David, the MM badges are far and few between.

A slightly better image of a "Balmberger" pin retaining plate.
