                Hi,

                Warlord:
                "Nice 1957 riders stick pin"

This is not a 1957 piece.

It is a normal post WWII needle:

I was under the impression that the Ridding badges of the 1930 to 1945 period had an R at the base of the badge. The new form is missing this R

The stick pin I posted IS post war and not TR period.

Warlord is correct, TR badges have the "R" at the bottom. Post War or as they are commonly referred to as "57" badges do not.

                      Best Regards. fischer

                        Hi,

                        fischer:
"... as they are commonly referred to as '57'"

I think, that the reinstitution of the riders badge (missing the R) started several years before 1957.

Therefore here is nothing to combine with the 1957 versions.

                        Only these are 1957 versions:

                        No sports badges.

                        Regards
                        Uwe

                          Hi Uwe

You are quite correct and I agree with you...

The phrase...as they are commonly referred to as '57'" is a term that has been used by collectors to identify badges as post war examples.

When Warlord referred to this stick pin as a nice 57, I new exactly what he meant.

Is it correct, no...Just something in my opinion has been used to identify the time period.

                          Thank you for the link...

                          Best Regards, fischer

PS. Here is another addition I recently acquired...This time it's TR period!

Fischer, firstly a very nice Riders badge. Next you are quite correct in the sumation of 1957. The reason for this date is that this is when the German Government published the Orders designe and regulations for the awards allowed and in which form, together with those that were perscribed. The Riding badges were in New Form before, but at this date the designe was recognised. This a rather "Potted" but I hope explains the "1957" usage
