What do you guys make of this badge?

the back of it appears to have been lead? filled and then the edges have been filed/ground down to make it smooth again??? You can still see that the original backing was nice and smooth. Is this just an elaborate and strange way of someone re-attaching a broken needle to the badge? Cheers, Torsten.

looks okay to me. I saw badges before with a resoldered safety pin an solder that covered the entire, or almost the entire reverse. Fresh solder looks really shiny. If you playing with it you come into temptation to spread it all around. I guess the fellow who repaired this badge found his work pretty cool at that moment.
