I know you have been answered on the Imperial forum that it is a cap badge from the Austro-Hungarian Empire...KuK Armee....WW1 era.

I really like these and have accumulated quite a few also.

The one that I have like yours must have lost it's safty pin and been replaced with a stickpin.
