Terry has obviously seen the badge in the auction and says that it should have a painted diamond so we're talking about the 1944 Gausieger I presume. If so a genuine one looks like this:

There you go....unless he needs a back shot. I got one in 69 from a kid in school whos dad brought it back, but i sold it years later, and the painted 44 was always my favorite of all. I especially like the photos of the winers wearing their badges in ceremony in 44.
