    Day Badge makers??

In looking at some duplicates of my day badges and tinnies, I noticed the different makers on the same year, type, badge. Were there so many issued/sold that one maker could not make enough? Is there any reason to desire one make over another as in more valuable medals?
    Just wondering...

Good question, IMO it was most likely done to help make work for the German people as there were more then 300 firms spread across the Reich making these badges that's putting a lot of people back to work in the 20's and 30's when they needed it most. And I would think it help train a new work force that was lost due to ww1. As far as is there any one maker better then another I think that's more collector driven now then at the time.

      Also if...

...you're making a million of 'em, I'd guess more than one maker would be necessary. Maybe one maker who won the bid (if there was one) farmed out the job above his own capacity. Also, were these things sold from one location, or all throughout Germany? Different makers for different regions would make sense if sold widespread. I'll bet that the later years had more makers.

Also take the shear quantity of badges. In 1941 the German Ministry of Propaganda estimated there were over 32,000 pieces of different design I don't know of anyone knows for sure what the total number was by wars end. And that I believe only takes into account the ones produced under the Third Reich.
Reinhard Tieste has the largest catalog of badges that I know of and he only has 9,000 listed so far. We'll ever run out of badge's to collect.
