    Mayors chain?

My friend picked up some items from the vet's family and this chain was included. I haven't seen anything like it before and didn't find anything in my books. I did see a photo in the SS cloth book of a simmilar chain worn by an SS member but, there was no info on it.I'm thinking it has something to do with the mayor of other city official. What exactly is it? What city is the crest for? What would be the value of it? I did search the forum and found very little info and no photos. Any info would be apreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ray

now, that is certainly something unusual and sure does look like a Mayor's chain ... no idea what city it might be, tough ... ??? Cheers, Torsten.

If you search the german towns crests you may find that griffins head , and possibly locate its town. Id say a couple grand anyway. You would have to find the right buyer who wasnt just into straight military awards. At least Thats what id give any way if i had the chance to purchse it. .

The jeweller Theodor Heiden is still to be find in München, Promenadenplatz 6.
May be he knows more about the chain.
