I was wondering why is so rare to get a kreissieger badge from 1944 and there are a lot of Gausiger in the market and in collections with this date, althought in the competition at least ten times more Kreissieger than Gausieger were awarded actually.

            hi gregorio,
there where no kreissieger awards given for the 1944 games only the gausieger and the reichssieger, and a lot of the 44 gau badges you see are good fakes

I´ve seen never a 1944 Kreissieger badge, but I though these existed because people as Detlev Niemann includes them in their guides.
About 1944 Gausieger its well known the big amount of fine fakes made since decades, but anycase you can find more authentic 1944 than 1937 and 1939 Gausieger badges.
Does anybody know how many of them were awarded in 1944?

it also states mentions in lots of books (formans)about badges for 1940,41,42 and 1943 but these never existed either.
its a lot easier to find a 38,39 gau than it is a 44 there allways seems to be more 44`s about due to the high number of fakes

p.s have seen 44 kreissiegers but they have allways been really bad fakes they where never made or awarded, it is thought that the 44 games where not even held at the kreiss level and whent instead straight to gau

Hi Stu, that is a nice collection you have put together over the years ... I wonder if anyone has got a bigger collection of sieger badges out there ... Cheers, Torsten.

                      Stu,

                      Beautiful collection of badges.

Can you tell me if there were multiple manufactures for these badges and are all the badges mm to the reverse?

                      Thanks!

dan the kreissieger awhere made by differant makers brehmer, tham, wagner and aurich wheras the gausieger and reichssieger where only made by brehmer, and yes all are maker marked to the reverse

                          Jeez Stu!

To think I only have one Kriessieger and you have a whole regiment

                          I just love the Reichssieger

                            Fantastic collection!

I remember the first time I held one I was very impressed with the quality of the badge. They are quite nice.
