    How to remove Zinkpest?

I am sure we all know Zinkpest. Does anyone know how to remove it? Is there a way without damaging the badge? Cheers, Torsten.

I think you can only seal it from the enviremont by vaseline or something like that famous renwax.

that would prevent it from getting any worse ... but I guess there is nothing to do then once it got hold of the badge?

You could try using a toothbrush and a mild dish soap in warm water that would remove the powdery pest and not harm the remaining finish. After you dry it completely spray it with a light coating of clear matt finish lacquer that will seal the surface. You will still have the pitting but at least you will be able to see the details better and stop it from further corrosion damage. I have done this too a couple of mine and it has worked well for me.

I clean them with a toothbrush and mild soap, dry with hair dryer by hand and then a light coat of olive oil (LIGHT COAT) and wipe with soft cloth. This should stop the pest and prevent further degradation.
