Strange GOLD 14 Karat Swastika Pin needle, Pure Gold

Hi Collectors.

A friend on my work has this needle pin from his father. He took this from a German in Norway during the War.
Marked on back with 14 K
The Swastika is great and have some small "perls" inside. Look like perls but they are shiny like small diamonds ?

Look and study the pictures.

The needle is 3 cm long total
the Swastika is ca 8.5 millimeters.

Is there anyone know what this can be ? or a value ?

LH neat little piece. Actually my 1st reaction is that this is not Nazi at all! Pre 1930's Swas's were all over the place and did not have the "evil" connotations they do today. They were considered good luck charms. I know here in Canada the popular Eaton's Dept store featured many pieces of jewelry with swas's, some with jewels. My guess is this is such a piece. It may be of N.A. origin.
Of course it may also be of Nazi origin as some sort of sweetheart piece.

yup thats what i reckon! it been a lucky symbols for thousands of years!sure my folks place a them in the plaster work in the ceilings and there house is about 170 years old!

My grandma had a big aluminum mixing bowl in her pantry that I recall as a child,that was embellished with a HUGE mobile swaz across the bottom,when I got older and interested in 3R,I asked for the bowl after her death from my sister,who would have gave it to me,but upon closer examination the inside of the swaz had Grand Isle Metal Fabrication,NEBRASKA USA and a patent date of 1912! That was a bummer to say the least,I was hoping for Goering's cereal bowl! BTW,here's the old US Army's 45th div shoulder patch up till 1940,replaced by the Phoenix in '41 for obvious reasons...

I would just add that 14K is the "American" way of marking Gold standart, the european system was differant (numerical I believe 535/585....something like that)....not that some european could be marked in "K" grades, but very unlikely....
Just to confirm the commercial/Good Luck line of thinking.....

Being a full time antique dealer and having dealt with alot of antique and vintage jewelry I would date this piece between 1870 and the first quarter of the 20th century. My personal thought is that it is Victorian and doesn't date much past 1903.

I can't tell you how many people have brought swastika jewelry just like this to me saying that it was nazi and how surprised they are to learn the truth about such pieces. As already said, swastika jewelry was very popular here in the USA, and abroad, long before it's use by the Nazi regime.

It's really too bad how the evil stigma will surround this ancient symbol for the rest of eternity.
