SA Sports Badges- magnetic or not?

I have this bronze SA Sports Badge that is not magnetic. It looks to be made of bronze. I have heard some people say that the SA Sports Badges are supposed to be magnetic. I don't think that that is a good general rule per se. I would like to see other Sports Badges and find out whether they are magnetic or not.

Hello Don,
I believe the earlier badges (like yours) are made of non-ferrous metal (e.g. brass) and only the later types are made of magnetic metal. At least, that's what I've found to be true.

My 3 early types are not magnetic; my 5 later types are magnetic. They are by various makers.

My REDO silver SA just showed up. Tall letters are definitely 100% good, and magnetic.

Hiya Don .... the SA's I have:

a. Bronze ... badge magnetic / pin non-magnetic (BERG & NOLTE A.G.)
b. Silver ... badge magnetic / pin non-magnetic (E.SCHNEIDER)
c. Gold ... badge magnetic / pin non-magnetic (REDO)
d. War Wounded ... badge and pin non-magnetic (M1/100 RZM)
