The broken rifle one is German and is pre-WW2 and is a sympathiser badge for anti-war protestors basically and the two bayonets, I do not know and could only speculate. Cheers, Torsten.

it could be helpful, to see the reverse of the "Broken Rifle" (first turn around 180°)

There are different oranizations, using this symbol.

- Bund der Kriegsdienstgegner BdK in Germany, 1919 - 1933,
- War Resisters' International WRI, founded 1921 in the Netherlands, it adopted the broken rifle as its symbol in 1931,
- Internationale der Kriegsdienstgegner/innen IDK, founded 1947 in Germany.

If it is an old badge, it is expensive, see Heering-Hüsken, Katalog der Abzeichen deutscher Organisationen 1871-1945, 4th edition 1997, No. 4212 a)
I think, that "Internationale der Kriegsdienstgegner" is the wrong name in the catalogue, it must be the "Bund der Kriegsdienstgegner".

The small bayonet reminds me of a series I saw marked with "Ypres". I guess the colours are those of the Belgian flag?

actually, if you look closely, the top bayonet has the Belgian flag on its grip and the bottom one has the German flag .... so, you're probably right and it would have something to do with the fighting in Belgium in 1914... Cheers, Torsten.

Thanks for picture out of your catalog. I looked up the group and got a little info. They were around from 1919-1933. I ordered an article from a book about them. Can't wait for it. Thanks all. If you get any more info let me know. I only have a few pre WW2 German commie pins and stuff. Sounds like they are a "fellow traveler" group to me. Some of the same people in it. Nazis crushed them out. Doug
