Thanks Greg and Ron for the comments. Collecting can be too sterile if no one else appreciates it! Ron, I'm looking for 3 DAF triangular pins: the High Leader's with Oak Leaves and white (Kreis) inside border, the DAF with just the yellow border, and the DAF with silver outside and white inside border. Maybe someday......sigh!!

John actually m1/24 and m1/54 with pigeon's head are controversial ..

Hey Kris, Good to hear from you! Yes, I finally did get the DAF Orts with oak leaves......the cost was high, but worth it to get one more. Now to find the others........I hope collecting is going well for you. I really like your collection. Mike

                "M1/24...with pigeon's head are controversial."

Thanks for your comment, "cysior". I was not aware of this and did a search on this forum to see what had been discussed and concluded. I only found mention here in this thread from 2005:

                http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...M1%2F54&page=3

However, there seems to have been no definitive conclusion, which I gather is why it remains controversial, as you indicate.

Perhaps you, "tsawyer", Don Scowen or Matt Gibbs might be able to kindly update us interested collectors here on this subject. I, for one, would really like to know if I have a fake pigeon versus a genuine eagle nesting in my collection....and also be vigilant regarding any future acquisitions.

                Thanks, in advance, and regards,

                John

Hastily checked mine and so glad to be M1/120.

Still, be nice to verify rumour so that things are put to rest one way or the other.

Thanks for the info guys. Learned lots!

I don't think it's possible to verify rumour abouth these MM.
Someone (no collectors names ) wrote about fakes in this article and since then some guys are sceptical about these.. I guess there is still no proof - that's why I used word "controversial" not fake

John didn't mention me as someone who could comment about Frauenschaft badges. I do have a minor interest in these badges (see pictures) and have been around a LONG time in collecting. It is my honest opinion that the M1/24 badges are totally fake---whether they look like a pigeon or a hawk or a dove or my Aunt Gracie. I was around when a certain German dealer all of a sudden brought out all these badges. Of course I wanted all of them!! My dealer friends told me to cool it and relax and wait until I found a REAL one. Every dealer who was around at that time knows the truth, but now with time they have become "real" and every one would sell them. My oakleaf badges are all M1/120. Does anyone out there remember the Japanese coming to the OVMS show at St. Peter & Paul hall in Cincy and buying up all the IC1s that they could find and then show up at the next show with a table of them? They are now considered real..... I love badges and I really hate it when I find out that I have a fake in my collection. Sometimes people MUST take a stand and let other collectors know what is good and bad.... Then we can talk about DRK colored badges with serial numbers. My opinion.......... Mike

Mike - thanks for your feedback and opinion on the subject of the M1/24 Frauenschaft badges...controversial or otherwise. In my posting above I simply mentioned the names of a few who had posted comments in the thread from 2005 that I referenced. Just so you understand that no slight was intended...I was not aware of your experience with these badges. However, I am sure that your contribution will be read with interest by those following or reading this thread.

Thanks John.....I don't post often and I was just speaking from the hip so to speak.....and years of experience.
