Glass "Tinnie" ??

Has anyone seen one of these before? It is a light blue glass and shows a monument with an inscription. The base is flared out on the back and it looks like a pin hole through the base. It is fairly heavy and it would have to a substantial pin to hold it securly if thats the way it was meant to be displayed.
If someone recognizes the monument and can translate the inscription I would appreciate it.

Greg, This is one of 1 in a set of I believe 15 Glass German architectural monuments ornaments sold by the KWHW between 1942/43. Sorry I don't know which one this is hopefully someone else here can provide that information.

Glass "Tinnie"

This is "HERMANNSDENKMAL" and is from a set of 17 historic monuments, produced for the KWHW street collections during the 19th and 20th of September 1942. They come in a variety of colours, however if washed some tend to loose the colour and you end up with white glass. I have seen them mounted on the window frame or a small shelf in front of the window, set into a wooded shield and hung from string, this of course tends to turn them upside down.

Aachen Rathaus and Kaiserpfalz Aachen = same picture different name KA is the rarest.

The Sütterlin script is a challenge for many of us, to be sure, but the inscription is "Berg-Isel Denkmal." This 1892 monument in Tyrolean Austria near Innsbruck commemorates the heroic battles fought there in the early part of the 19th century, and particularly freedom-fighter Andreas Hofer, who is the main subject of the monument. If I may, I would suggest that you consider adding to your library the fine new reference work of Joseph Cassidy and Chrystopher Alexander titled "Wilterhilfswerk: National Street/House Collections & More, A Collector's Guide" published in 2011, which has been referred to recently on the WAF site. The "glassies" in the set of which this piece is a part are well-covered and depicted on pgs 80-82. Hope this is helpful to you.
