    Fire Brigade Cross second class

Hi there. Just got this denazified Fire Brigade Cross second class and wonder what were the requirements for this award. There are no markings anywhere on the award or suspension loop, were these ever marked? Are they scarce, I think that they are an interesting collectible. I have been wearing it on a chain around my neck and more than one person has asked if its a satanic emblem; they don't seem any happier when I tell them its a WW2 German award...

This is, when complete, a very nice item. Normaly is no marked. Price is 160-180 euros complete with ribon today. Requirement for the badge is 25 years of service in fire brigade.
    Regards
    Greg

i like these crosses, with the red & white enamel they are very striking! the middle section with the swastika is only a seperate piece soldered on, its a pity its missing! i think gregorio was spot on with his valuation, with box, you could double that!!

I would be concerned about the colour of the enamel. The silver is also not as it should be.

Looks like mine might be a fake, the enamel is too dark and the flame lines are too short when compared to George's. Didn't cost much ....

I brought up some questions in the political org section here is the link(I hope) I wouldn't be so quick to toss it yet. I still have not received any replies to my post there a few days ago.

I am looking for these myself and want more than "I think it's fake"

I would concur. It would be nice to see some better pictures with a little better lighting. I believe the original picture is just dark and it's making this one appear controversial.

Well the reason it's so dark may be because it has more oxidation (tarnish) to the finish than the other one.

I would agree with that for the silver ring and the reverse, however, not for the flames and silver lining around them. Those are enamel.
