    A couple of Villach tinnies

A box with a couple of Austrian shooting badges arrived today & in with them were these two Villach tinnies.

Villach is an area of Kärnten, Carinthia in English, the southern most state in Austria. I'm not a big tinnie fan but thought some of you would enjoy seeing them.

    First a HJ one.

    Cheers
    Don

Don Thanks for showing these gems. I wasn't aware the NSDAP was that organized in Austria so early. The edelweiss laced wreath around the haken is well done. Very nice design. Robert

The Austrian NSDAP received a grand total of 12% of the vote in 1932. A total of 8% in 1930. Not a force to be reckoned with.............yet. Robert

                Thanks Robert.

Indeed the NSDAP were not that large an organisation in Austria at that time, especially in the South of the country where this place is.

Items from this early period & this part of the country are quite unusual.

                Cheers
                Don

Don I also see nowthey are both made by the same manufacturer. They are so well made and so uncommon one would be hard pressed to find other examples still in existence and of such quality. Such a low percentage of the vote in1932 in that part of Austria.......there weren't that many even made back then I would suspect. Congrats Robert

Schwertner & Co. still in business today. They state that they have been in operation for over 70 years. We know it is at least 76 years. They are maker number M1/155 although Husken has Egenberg spelled wrong which I deal with daily. These a true treasures. Have a nice day. Robert

                      Hi Robert,

Thanks for the extra info. It's not a maker I know of but I'm not a great tinnie collector.

                      Cheers

I just see that james Noble's party pin data base has3 examples made by Schwertner. Here is their website for any of the people who have viewed this thread www.schwertner.at and wish to check out their business. Robert
