Nothing special but would appreciate you quick opinions on this. Seems strange to me that looks worn and aged to the front but new to the rear?

The front would logically show more wear than the rear on a cap badge wouldn't you think? The rear is exposed to cloth and front to whatever it happens to encounter. Have a good day. Robert
