Berchtesgaden pin

Couldn't find a proper forum for this, maybe a case for a "misc" TR sub-forum.

Picked this up today in a small, truly out of the woodwork collection, thought I'd share as it is a lovely piece I have not seen before.
A hunting/nature theme includes a rifle, elk, leaves, acorns and Edelweiss. No markings at all, I rather think that this is likely a privately produced work with a very limited run, probably meant for souvenir hunters of the era, paying homage to AH.
If anyone has any info on this little beauty, please share.

I don't believe this is TR related. It was and continues to be common practice to produce pins from Alpine resorts (to be affixed to jackets, alpine hats or ski caps, etc.). Berchtesgaden is one of those Alpine resorts. I have two from Berchtesgaden and a few from other retreats. The Edelweiss motiff is always popular, although ice picks and other mountaineering equipment is also popular. I will post pictures of some if interested.

True, not necessarily TR era.
The only reasons I have to believe it is are patina, and the fact that it came with a bunch of TR items.
So the Edelweiss is not shunned as a TR trapping ?

These pins are common now for Austro-Bavarian alpine hats. My hat has both a Berchtesgaden enamel pin from a visit I made there as well as several Edelweiss.

Far from any III Reich association, the Edelweiss is still the state flower of both Austria and Switzerland and a beloved symbol of the Alps and climbing.

Good, glad to hear that not everything which the Nazis adopted as symbols has become permanently tainted by PC horror.
Hard to knock a flower under any circumstances, I guess.

Here are three pins:

The first one is I think a very nice one from the resort of Garmisch (notice the edelweiss, pick axe, and mountaineer boots).

The second one has the Berchtesgaden coat of arms (again notice the pick axe).

The last one is of Kehlsteinhaus (notice the pick axe, climbing rope, etc.).

The Garmisch one is my personal favorite because it was found in a flea market in the U.S. along with some other neat little things....

The Garmisch pin was found in a 1930's cigarette tin box along with the remnants of a Kriegsmarine dagger handle, a KM eagle, a dried up edelweiss, some sea shells and an EK2 converted into Knight's Cross. This is one of those things that keeps me wondering about it's history...

Just an addition....

I found this model chalet on the fleamarket . It reminded me of the chalet that AH rented on the Obersalzberg, end of the twenties.

This miniature chalet is from the seventies and bought in Bayreuth ( Germany) ;
I think it's for tourists.
I love the stones and wood on the roof
