SA Sports badge Gold or Bronze?

I recently picked up this Sports badge in a Lot,Im not sure if it is Gold or Bronze grade.It is a nice early numbered piece and looks more gold in hand than in the pictures Thanks Jay Parisi

First of all, I think just this high number indicates it´s a bronze one.
But without looking the numbering, this dark oxidation in low parts of relief are tipical in bronze items. When a gold finish exists the low parts preserve better the gildering and they use be brighter than the others, quite the opposite than your badge.

I would agree, although it's really tough to try to guess without having it in hand. With magnification, take a look at the underside of the pin, the catch, and the hinge, and see if there is any sign of a golden finish. If it was originally a gold example, there is usually some remnant of the finish in a protected area. If not, I would say it was originally a bronze version.

Hi: It is very hard for me to get the correct color when posting. I took 26 shots yesterday to get the color right on a luftschuts decal and am still not satisfied.
I have a full set of these and the DRL'S inc war wounded for both, and I think bronze too. John

as sayed the high award number it cant be gold, and from the pics it looks bronce
