OK - I give up. Here is a RAD historian who has a 1500-page book coming out in 2009 (so no - no one has the book yet) who has done incredible research from primary sources and it's not good enough for you on the basis of absolutely no evidence you have put forward to the contrary.

I'm not going to play tennis with myself any more on this subject. I have nothing to prove and no skin in this - I don't even have the badge. I just try to get history as right as possible based on facts.

    Happy collecting.

Ok, Let see the 1500 page book (if this exists one day) with these "incredible research from primary sources" and them we´ll talk about it, but until this happens in my knowledge there isn´t any reference to support your oppinion but this almost anonymous contribution in the forum. For me it´s not enough against oppinions from people as mentioned before (Angolia, Cone, David Littlejohn...).
So I hope somebody understand to persons like me and others than prefer to keep this cheap badge in quarantine in our collections (I have never said that it´s good definitly) and to wait for more evidences than a issolated contribution in a forum.
Is it so difficult to accept?

      Happy collecting.

i have nothing new to add to this arguement as of yet ,im waiting at this moment for G-2 files on the RAD on microfilm from the US government archives,it may or may not back up Michaels claim that "there was never a camp 4/ 305 in Braunschweig, there is not a place "Braunschweig" in Bavaria, because the pin said: 305 - and this is a RAD-Group in Bavaria"i will let you know when it arrives and i look over the files.

as for Angolia, littlejohn and cone they are hardly RAD experts or researchers, the first 2 put together a book on labor orginizations that included a basic guide to the RAD (that has errors in it) with alot of help from collectors,Michael is one of the most serious RAD collectors/researchers i know of in Germany (if you know of other serious RAD collectors or researchers please let me know i would like to contact them!) ,i personally trust his opinion about the RAD more than the 3 men you mentioned.that said i dont think the debate on this badge is over untill more information comes to light (and it may never, this badge may allways be a grey area for collectors with some believing its good and some not)

Thanks Yancy - nothing like going to primary sources.

I'd say that nails this particular badge, unless we're willing to believe that the manufacturer made up a whole lot of fantasy badges as "samples".

sorry for my short thread the other day i was in a hurry,to add to what i said about abteilung 305/4 not being located in braunsweig-Braunsweig is located in Arbeitsgau XVIII,RAD abteilung 305/4 is in Arbeitsgau XXX,so not only is the abteilung not in that town its not even in the same arbeitsgau, the more i look into this from a RAD standpoint (as opposed to a membership pin collector)its makeing even less sense.
