HJ Proficiency with Name and Unit Marking!

A friend picked up some nice pieces from a vet's family recently. One of the items he offered me was this HJ proficiency badge. While I already had an example or two, I was intrigued when he told me it was personalized, as that is the kind of militaria I most enjoy.

Please take a look and let me know your opinions. I have a good feeling about this one as all of the other items were excellent originals. If the number beside the name is indeed the unit marking, would this indicate the Banne or ? (I'm not very educated on HJ units!)

I'll show the badge in different lighting.

      Different Lighting

These shots give it a slightly gold hue, but still show detail. Actually color is more silver as in the first set of pics.

i dont know what to say anbout this badge, the badge is good but have never seen anything marked like this before , these nearly allways have a issue number or a B on the back where you have the extra engraving ,the only blank ones you see are normally unissued but if it was unissued then there would not be an owner to go to the trouble of marking the back, the other thing is this mark on the back has not been done by some young kid who has used anything sharp to scratch a name in the back to personalise his badge but has been done using a proper engraving tool??
          lots of questions

Thanks Stu. I do agree with you that if I saw this piece on ebay or a gunshow table and it was being offered at a premium for the inscription, I would probably stay far away from it. But because this one came in a great vet group with a couple of flags, an IAB, several other pins and badges, an M-40 helmet, etc etc and it's being offered to me at a price no higher than a standard one, I'm willing to take the chance. It could be that the Weber kid had a jeweler for a dad...who knows? Anyway, I've owned several with the number and B as you mentioned, and this one interests me just because it's not the norm.
