    Frauenschaft pin info request.

    Greetings,

I was shown this NAT.SOZ.FRAUENSCHAFT badge that a friend of mine has had for years and am looking for some info on it. Its the standard type brass triangle shape with enameled front in black with a white cross and red swastika. I tried to take as good of pics as possible, but my camera isnt real good at things this small.

I see these badges around all the time, but dont really no much about them. Going by the name on top, I assume its some form of Womens League pin but thats all I know about it. I tried searching it here and found many pics, but little info on the background of these badges.

What is this for exactly? Is it a womens version of the NSDAP member pin or is it a different organization entirely? and if so, what was the orgs purpose? And lastly, does this one look like the real thing or a fake?

The pics dont show the marking real well so I will list them here:

On the mounted hinge that holds the pin on, it has "GES" on the top, and "BESCH or GESCH" on bottom (first letter isnt stamped well).

On the lower rear portion of the badge, it has an RZM mark and the number 46 under it.

The pin mount is very well attached and the entire badge appears to be brass. It is well worn and has a small crack in the enamel on the front upper right corner where it looks like the badge has been bent slightly.

Here are the pics so you can all see for yourself. Any info on this would be quite helpful. Thanks.

You are correct in IDing it as a Nazi women’s League badge, it was an organization for political education of female political leaders of the NSDAP and a reorganizing center for the girls from the BDM.

just to expand more on the information, "Ges Gesch" would be the equivalent in the U.S. of the stamp you see on certain things that read "pat. pend."or patent pending.

you will see these in different sizes, colors, and exterior band withs, mostly representing rank hierarchy within the organization.

They do a nice write up with some information on this site. Click on the item to see the information and price.

        Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info guys, you have all been very helpful. I looked at the website link posted, and noticed all of them have a stylized C in the word "schaft" where the C kinda cuts under the bottom of the H. Does that mean mine is fake or is it just another version not shown on that site? On mine all the letters are block type letters. As for size, Im assuming its a miniature version as its roughly 22mm in size tall and wide.

One last question about it, does this go on the pocket or necktie of civilian clothes, or is this worn on a uniform? Thanks very much.

This kind of items go as brooch in the neck usually, both in service uniforms (when they existed) or in civilian clothes. Sometimes you can find a period picture being used in the chest, but this is not very common.
