Sorry to see that no one has answered you post earlier Doug. A fine original you have there.

I can't honestly state whether these were awards or an achievement badge (similar to the H.J. Leistungsabzeichen where a grade had to be met to qualify for the badge). There certainly seems to ba large numbers of them about if they are an award.

This is the highest grade of 4 pins, bronze, silver, gold & the honour pin, which was gold with enamelled oakleaf wreath surround.

I'll attach a pic of mine (the gold has faded from my honour pin).
