    Gausieger Badge

Though I don't collect civil awards as such, some of them are too great looking to be passed up. I have been looking for the Kreissieger/Gausieger/Reichsieger bades for some time. It seems that almost all of them have some enamel damage. I finally found my first one at the Etobicoke (Toronto) show a couple of weeks ago. I am so happy with it I had to share it with someone. Even better, it came with the original box insert. The standoff tab is there, just folded over.
Now I hope I don't have to wait another year to find my next oneuhoh2:

Thank you Stu. I guess the Reichsieger is one to add to the list of "hopeful's". But the search for rare items is what makes collecting so exciting. I have not been able to find much information on these badges, is it known how many Reichsiegers were awarded? I would think that the number would be very small, since at that level it would have filtered down to just one award per catagory. At the Kreis and Gau level there would have been one award for each catagory in each Kreis and then each Gau, making for great number of awards. Is that correct? Are the early Reich level awards fire gilted, or just laquer finished? Is the 1944 Reich level just painted like the lower awards, or does it have a better finish?

            hi
these badge are lovely but people are getting wise and the fakes are getting better so far the kreiss fakes are pretty bad,the gau fakes for 38,39 are not very good but the 44 gau`s are a minefield, and all the reich badges are very well faked so before buying check first many a big dealer has had fake reichsiegers on their site,as for amount awarded i have seen that info but cant put my finger on it now if i find it ill post it
