    Nuremberg Badge of Honor

    I was just going through my photos and came across this one that I really had never paid much attention to before or gave enough time to identify the tinnie. I took the time tonight and found it to be "The Nuremberg Badge of Honor". How rare would this be to an individual with this lowly rank? What was the award criteria?

    Anyone else got any photos to share?

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Considering the HJ pin and his age, I would say that he probably attended the 1929 rally as an HJ member. Therefore, he would have been authorized to wear it as an honor badge since he was a participant in the event.

      Can anyone give me the background on this event or post a link to where to read up on this?

      So if he was there as a HJ member/participant it is a tinnie and if he was old and watched(?) it could be an honor badge?

      What was the award criteria?

        In Fuhrer and Fatherland, Angolia states it was given out to an estimated 60,000 people for attending this rally. It also states that it was authorized for wear by all party members who attended this rally as an Honor badge. The date on the back of this photo is 1940. Since it does not give his age, no one will know if he was old enough to be a party member and have it "Honor badge" status or "tinnie" status I guess.

            Due to the fact that he's wearing the golden HJ honor pin, the Nürnberg badge would be an honor badge as he would have been an attendee as an HJ member or HJ leader. Anyone wearing the badge after the end of the event would be wearing it as the honor badge, as otherwise it was not authorized to be worn.
