Hello Andre, I think that perhaps most collector’s would no doubt agree that this particular Tinnie is of exceptional Design , your Badge is certainly a text Book example, which retains virtually all of it's original silver finish, and although fakes do exist of this particular Tinnie, the one you posted is a 100% period example and in my opinion the quality screams it from the rooftops.
Sonnenwende (Solstice) Festivals have been held in Germany for over 1000 years and infact are still celebrated in Europe Today. The design is breathtaking with the flames representing the huge Bonfires that were ever present at the Festivals. The early symbolism on this particular Badge put it head and shoulders above most period examples and although Reinhard Tieste rates the value of this particular Badge at approx $60, I have to say I would buy A Badge like this faster than you could blink at that price.
Best regards Martin
PD hopefully Gerdan will see your thread, he has an exceptional knowledge relating to German History and hopefully should be able to enlighten both of us further.Last edited by Martin Harding; 05-18-2008, 01:39 PM.
