    SS shooting medal

I was advised to move this to this forum for more impact. I found this in a
flea market years ago. Anyone have any info on this other than it being a shooting medal for a small caliber .22. I assume it is early SS. Any Idea about the missing ribbon. Thanks

Very interesting Dennis. What is the diameter/size? Is there a mfg. mark along the rim of the medal? Does the lettering look like it was stamped after the casting/minting of the medal? Just curious is it was a generic award created for the shooting program so that any unit could stamp in their numbers or was it specially created for that SS Reserve Sturm.

Joe, I am at work now and I don't rememeber if the rim was marked. I reallly don't know about the stamping , but very crisp and even and appears as part of the medal

For my view it is a nice original medal. Difficult to say what ribbon was on it as it was like a local given medal and nothing official. A typical German award, Kleinkaliber is still very popular in Germans shooting clubs and you still get awards for it like at local county fairs etc. these days.
