I recently acquired an SA Sports Badge in Gold and I would like to know if this piece is authentic. Some minor things told me otherwise and I want to know if I suffer from advance paranoia.
I put a good silver one beside it for camparison. Gold badge Front is almost identical to the silver one. When we check reverse, there is a lot that ring a bell here. First the pin itself is wider and thicker than the siver one. The molded pin assembly seems uneven. Maybe it does not show on the pics but you have one molded side that is much wider than the other. If I look at the one in silver, everything is perfectly symmetrical.

Finally, look at the catch. It is much thicker with the gold badge than with the silver one.
Can we assume that with those concerns, the badge still have chances being an original?
