Any thoughts on this HJ German Japanese tinne? not familiar with it. if it's the real deal, I'll be curious as to current market value and rarity.

Hi Tony,

I'd unfortunately say a fake based on the notorious clipped oval pinplate and poor quality enamel and rough back.

I can't recall offhand if these ever existed or they are total fanasty pieces.

yep 100% fake , i did hear some of the round ones dated 1941 might be good , but hey who can be sure ? (obviously without the clipped plate)

thank you everyone for the info.

the piece has such 'nice wear' and oxidation, I thought there was a good chance it was legit. I'll still see if I can take better photos and post for posterity as these do not reflect the wear.

Definately a fake piece - - - tho the colour scheme is different to that normally encountered. Usually they have a button hole reverse too.
