Reichsnahrstand Tobacco Grower's award

I recently acquired this and just wanted to share as well as ask if anyone has any information about this award? I'm just really curious as to what conditions were for receiving it and so on. It is also interesting because unless I am mistaken, the Third Reich government cracked down on tobacco use - or at least attempted to, and this sort of award seems counter-intuitive to that.

Any additional information on this is greatly appreciated. I'm curious if there are other medallions just like it that maybe were given to companies for producing other crops besides tobacco, too.
