WHW & Turnerbund

Hello Steve, the enamel one to the top far right of the picture is pre Third Reich the TD is for Deutschland Turnerbund. The other three are Third reich era and are from the WHW Winterhilfeswerk series. Each of the WHW tinnies you posted to the top left & bottom left of the picture belongs to a seperate set. I have posted a picture below of one set for your reference.

Last one is a commemorative tinnie of second centenary of the king Frederich "Redbeard" of Prussia (the favourith Hitler´s historic character).
The enameled one isn´t a Third Reich period tinnie, cause the black-red-yellow flag is from Weimar Republic or post war Federal or Democratic Republics of Germany.
I don´t know anything about the others. I´m sorry.

Hello Greg, I stated pre Third reich on the enamel badge. In England pre means before.

Hello Steve, perhaps it may be worth considering putting the Badges back on the Pennant as the Badges may have been there since the period. As Individually the badges don't have a high commercial value they might look more effective back on the Pennant. Have the pin marks left noticible holes on the actuall pennant?

Some explanations on the tinnie of "Friedrich der Grosse" - Frederick the Great,
King of Prussia (also called Soldatenkönig ("Soldier King")

1786 - 1936 is written on the tinnie.

Frederick was born 24 Dec 1712 and he died 18 Aug 1786. So 1936 the year of his death was 150 years ago.

Hitler admired this king.

Gregorio, Frederick never was named king "Redbeard". He never has a beard.

It was the mediaeval Friedrich I. Barbarossa (=Readbeard), * 1122 + 1190

Hi Martin,
exactly the enameled tinnie was from the Deutsche Turnerbund.

You can also see the 4 letters F. The 4 FFFF stand for the gymnast's slogan = Frisch Fromm Fröhlich Frei = Fresh Pious Cheerful Free.

It's still today the slogan of the gymnasts of the Deutsche Turnerbund - a corporation whis is existing since 1848(!).
