    Stuttgart GBP Set

I saw this set on Carsten Baldes' stand and tried desperately not to buy it as I already own another nice set. However, as Oscar Wilde said, I can resist everything but temptation and bought it minutes before leaving the show.

What is so nice about it is the condition and the fact that it has the Urkunde and quite a low number.

The recipients name is Emil Diesener and he lived at Quedlinburg, Damm 1a.

I also got some other nice gau badges which I'll post soon.

Fantastic set Stan. You made a wise choice picking these up because the matched sets are getting so hard to find.

The show was great but very busy. At least it was in a new location this year right next to the airport/hotel/ train station which made travelling very easy.

What was really nice was the dinner on Friday evening organised by the guys at GCA where most people knew each other through their posts on their site.

                    Gbp

I did some research on this badge yesterday and found out that Diesener was not inly NSDAP party no. 17,953 but also an Obersturmfuhrer in the SS with the SS No. 310312.

Today I found out that he was also mayor of a town called Oebisfelde 1937-40.

It's great to find out more info on awards in your collection!

                    Stan,

An absolute beauty of a set Stan and now with extra info. It's quite a thrill when some research pays off.

                      Congrats

Baldes got burnt on Jason's GPB's quite a bit, maybe that's why he did not offer this set in any of his recent updates ?

Interestingly enough, I have the number on my list, but without a source. Thanks for posting !
