    Don,t forget Plauen 15-10-1933 same style but silver, i think there are
    five of these in total. I notice a difference in colour between the Dresden
    and Leipzig one is a lighter shade of bronze.

      The 'Bautzen' is not 'extremely scarce'....they do appear now and again...but no way near as much as the Leipzig and Dresden versions...

      I've seen a 'Chemnitz' before, but the poor condition made me pass it by....I've yet to also find the 'Plauen'...

      Hello Ian, so perhaps we are all in agreement with the order of rarity/availability of the five you made reference to with no doubt that Leipzig is perhaps the easiest to find then Dresden with perhaps Plauen been the most difficult to obtain. As you say although Reinhard Tieste's 5<SUP>th</SUP> edition features those five districts I have this feeling there exists examples for other Gaue

        Hello Mametz, perhpas only five exist, although I have encountered many Tinnies that are not featured in any of Rienhard Tieste's Books and I have a feeling there may be other Badges for other Districts.
        The different shades of Bronze you refer to might be due to the fact that after over seventy years some Badges develope totally a different patina depending on how they have been stored. I have several example of the 'common' Tag der Arbiet 1934 Tinnie in several different colour tones, with one example chocolate bronze to the other extreme of literally Black. I have known some collectors who find the heavily oxidised black examples to be the most desirable ...........crazy world

                Hello Ian, yes I have to agree that is one of the best designs you could wish to encounter. However three birds yet again is just so wrong one is sufficent for any man

                  Bringing this up as I just obtained a chocolate box full of tinnies from the son of a US WWII Vet along with a few other German items. Inside the box was the Brigade-Appel SA tinnie from PLAUEN.

                  It is Brehmer maker marked on the reverse.

                      I know that this badge has been discussed before within the forum.

                      Apparently commemorating Der Stahlhelmbund being absorbed into the SA.

                      Unfortunately, I have never seen the one issued for Chemnitz !

                        Hello David, very impressive and from the obverse all of your Badges appear to be text Book examples. Although I have an example of the Chemnitz I have to admit that I do not have an example of the Plauen.
                        Once I locate the Chemnitz I will post on the SA thread that I recently started.
                        I would also bet (if I was a betting man) that Ron has an example of the Chemnitz
