    Brigade Appell 1935

    BRIGADE-APPELL DRESDEN 1933

I bought the following Tinnie via WAF e-stand a few months back. I personally find the design to one of the most striking designs I have yet to encounter on a Day Badge. Does any other member own this particular badge ? or even better one for the other districts other than Dresden. If so I would appreciate seeing a picture of other examples on this thread.

      Leipzig.....dresden

Hello, thanks Tom, there also exists other variants of this particular badge, well strictly speaking not variants but identical Badges representing different Districts. I know somewhere when I locate it I have another Badge with identical design, although it is for leipzig 1933 not Dresden. I am guessing from the design of the Badge that it is a meeting Day for the Unification of the SA with the Stahlhelm/Veterans with the chains been symbolic to emphasise this. It's also worth noticing the swastika is actually present behind the Sword grips (worth mentioning as it is so easy to miss at first glance) Hopefully Gerdan will spot this thread and be able to enlighten me further to the history of this Badge
      Regards Martin

Hello Chris, I don’t have the following Tinnies 1st & 6th of the top row. 1st Tinne of the second row & 8th one on the bottom row

Hello Gerdan, the SA-Brigade Appell Leipzig meeting was on a different Date (actually two weeks later) on the 19th November 1933

                Regards Martin

                  Hallo Martin,
so I will include the 1. Nov 1933 (Leipzig) in my research.

Sorry, but I need some time because I must wait to hear the answer of the colleagues from Leipzig and Dresden.

                  Regards
                  Gerdan

Hello James, superb text book example of the Badge, I must be psychic as I somehow guessed that both your goodself and Chris would have examples of this particular Badge.
                        Regards Martin

Hello Gerdan, I very much appreciate your research efforts on the SA Brigade-Appell tinnie & of course all the other valuable information you have already provided.
After further investigation I have discovered there also exists an Identical Badge for the district of Bautzen. The Bautzen meeting took place on 5.11.1933. As I have only ever encountered the Dresden and Liepzig versions of the Badge I would presume that the Bautzen Badge is extremely scarce.
                          Regards Martin

Hello Chris, although the design of the Badge is (in my opinion at least) exceptional, have you noticed that the tips of the eagles wings have been severed ? as you know on the earlier Turnerbund/ Turnfest/Turnverien the tips of the Eagles wings are present. Perhaps I am wrong as on a second inspection the Eagle appears to be perched............... I really must start adding water to the whisky

                              Hello Martin,

This same badge is featured in the 5th edition Tieste with five different locations = Leipzig, Bautzen, Dresden, Chemnitz and Plauen......

I have the Leipzig / Bautzen / Dresden tinnies......

The 'Bautzen' is not 'extremely scarce'....they do appear now and again...but no way near as much as the Leipzig and Dresden versions...

I've seen a 'Chemnitz' before, but the poor condition made me pass it by....I've yet to also find the 'Plauen'...

                              Regards...
