    Olympic 1936 pin ok?

    Hi!

I haven´t had one of these with this maker before, anyone knows if it´s a good or a bad one?

Hello, wow I think perhaps I will let someone else make the call on this one. Paulmanne & Crone and Deschler are certainly two of the main manufacturer's of this paricular Badge. I have posted a picture of one of my Deschler examples for you to compare.

Martin, why does the MM on yours look so strange? It looks like the MM was engraved with different size letters and at a point after the back had already patinated. They also look very rough rather than sharp. Is it the photo, lighting or perhaps the angle?

Hello Richard, neither of those reasons. Actually in hand the Deschler mark is sharp and well defined and it is perhaps the traces of the gilt wash that give that effect on the image. This particular Badge I recently purchased from an Austrian contact with other tinnies I will post when I get the opportunity. The others are all Austrian which from my point of view Austrian examples are sometimes among the finest quality Tinnies you could wish to find.

Both look fine to me! I've seen that effect on the Deschler on other Deschler Olympia badges.
