Here is an example that I have felt comfortable with in regards to originality (but I could be wrong about that!). Today I removed it from its display case to check the reverse.

But instead of the above, this example has a more sophisticated rear assembly. (And some sloppy soldering!) I thought it was a repair (maybe postwar, who knows?) but then I noticed that the bar color matched the badge almost exactly. So is this type set-up seen? Could this be as issued (including the soldering?) I appreciate all opinions!Attached Files

Hello William, even before a closer inspection the pin assembly and the soldering is from my point of view not period and from my perspective the obverse is also struggling with sufficent definition that I would expect to see on a period example. Please compare the details with one below (note also the finer detail to the Architecture) although I would not condemn it 100% as from the obverse picture it is difficult to judge (are you in macro mode with flash set to off ?)
