I very like this plaque

Real or fake?

There is seller's discripyion:

This piece is 5 1/2 inches long by 2 1/2 inches high and was no doubt at one time mounted on a plaque.
You can see two spots on the reverse where it was welded onto something. The piece is finished in a matte frosted silver style common to the era.
The only such eagle I have had.
This piece closely resembles an Army Eagle.

My Friend,
This eagle is NOT fake. It was meant to be used by mounting it on a base. Perhaps there is a remant of this mounting screw at the bottom underside of the wreath. Being that both sides are finished, the purpose was to display it so all sides could be seen as on that base I mentioned. I think it may have broken off the base and an attempt was made to mount it on a plack....perhaps? I have one very similar.

Peter... You couldnt possibly say that was or wasnt fake by those photos! However, My friend is keen on these & both his authentic eagles are of much better build quality than this! Im not saying its not genuine, I just belive that they were normally made in higher detailed quality!
