    Another what is this??

I'm posting this for an older friend of mine whose computer skills are limited. Could someone please tell me what it is, is it real and the value?
    Thanks!

      David,
I saw this one yesterday at midnight and im surprised nobody replied.
Having not seen this piece before nor a similar one, i think you can tell some things about it..such as, the red and white formation looks like the HJ emblem. I think it also would be helpful to post this on the Political Organizations forum as it looks more like a cloth patch rather than a badge.
I really dont know anything about cloth patches and that stuff, but it look like a collar tab, doesnt it? Especially when you look the reverse of it. If so, maybe it is of a high rank of the HJ. I couldnt find any website with the complete ranks of the HJ and their correspondant collar tabs, etc.
These are just things that came to my mind. I think you should seek for more help in that forum too.
      Good luck.

          Hi,

It's an arm badge for Hitler Jugend members under training with the NSKK. It was worn on the left forearm.

          Regards, Theo

Thanks for the nice remark, Santiago but it is just a matter of books, books and more books... . I did a quick search in Brian Leigh Davis' book "Badges and Insignia of the Third Reich 1933 - 1945. It's says: "The insignia seems to be a combination of the HJ emblem and the NSKK drivers emblem. The date of introduction is uncertain, but it must have been during the early war years"

I took a look at an interesting scan of the organization of the NSDAP, in which you can see all the organizations and emblems, but none of the eagles were similar to the one shown in the insignia, so i thought about the chance of it being a high rank eagle or something.
I have a question, because the eagle in the insignia there looks different to the standard NSKK eagle, why is that? Did the NSKK had more than one emblem?
Im talking about this type of emblem:

That is a very early variant when the 1929 eagle was still used. I have seen NSKK metal composite before but not for the HJ.

Thanks for all the help. I posted this in the political forum and they agree with you guys here. One of the other things my friend has is a eagle that looks as if it's off of a leather NSKK helmet. I wonder if these items are related somehow. Anyway, thanks for the help. Any idea to the value?
